I’ve been thinking about how Trump keeps saying we’ve been at war with Iran for 47 years. While we should trace it back to at least 1953 when the CIA helped overthrow Mosadeggh, I have to admit their helping to elect Reagan did start our slow swirl down the toilet. A genius move in hindsight.

If you missed this thread in February 2026 I am repeating it here because recent events make it relevant again. The thread describes the distinctions I use to make sense of it all. For example: "the media" is not the same thing as "journalism," which is not the same as The Press."
Just to clarify. I loathed him, before I even knew what party he might have affiliated with. He was, to me, way back in the 80s, the epitome of what used to be called 'The Ugly American'. I loathe him even more now. I just want him gone. #NeverTrump #Resist @bluestormcomin1.bsky.social
