Based on +1,600 🐠 species in 2,800 🪸 reefs, we find that human impacts 🍣 have profoundly altered the contributions of fish communities to ecosystem functioning and People.
Conversely, MPAs, while essential, work slowly and locally, and cannot reverse alone global trends toward degradation. 📉🤒
