I recently completed my PhD at university of Montpellier, UMR MARBEC - Interested in functional ecology and conservation, my research combines ecological modeling, fieldwork, and citizen science to explore and enhance the relationship we foster with nature.

Conserving the beauty of the world’s reef fish assemblages 💙 Check out our last paper @pnas.org We mapped what makes reef fish assemblages beautiful worldwide! 🌍 MPAs boost aesthetic, and developing countries have a chance to align conservation with local benefits doi.org/10.1073/pnas... 🌐🧪🦑🦤
Many thanks to the press office of @umontpellier.bsky.social and @franceinfo.fr for their article on my latest research paper! www.umontpellier.fr/articles/la-... la1ere.franceinfo.fr/ce-sont-des-... These efforts help raise awareness about the significance of human pressures on tropical reefs!
Very happy to present my thesis work at OOS2025! If you want to talk about the benefits of MPAs and the human impacts on Nature's contributions, don’t hesitate coming for the last evening of poster session 😁
Based on +1,600 🐠 species in 2,800 🪸 reefs, we find that human impacts 🍣 have profoundly altered the contributions of fish communities to ecosystem functioning and People. Conversely, MPAs, while essential, work slowly and locally, and cannot reverse alone global trends toward degradation. 📉🤒
🚨New Paper ! 🚨 Glad to see my second thesis chapter finally published in @natecoevo.nature.com ! 🎉Marine protected areas marginally offset anthropogenic declines in tropical reef fish contributions to nature and people🎉 www.nature.com/articles/s41... @umontpellier.bsky.social
Many thanks to all my coauthors! @nmouquet.bsky.social @nloiseau.bsky.social @cyrilhighheart.bsky.social @evamaire.bsky.social @mcleanfishecology.bsky.social @loic-patanegra-scz.bsky.social @joshuacinner.bsky.social Ella Clausius, Rick Stuart-Smith, Graham Edgar, Camille Albouy, and David Mouillot
‪ 🌳 Do you want to contribute to research on how humans perceive forests? Take this quick, anonymous 10-min survey 🌲 👉 www.biodiful.org#/forest This will help us explore how people experience forest biodiversity! Please share on 🦋 & tag @biodiful.bsky.social to reach more participants 🙏💚 🌐🌍🦤🦑🪴🍁🧪
Studying 2,800 tropical reefs, the authors of this study show that marine protected areas have compensated for only a small portion of human impacts on fish contributions to people and nature, particularly in terms of biomass and biodiversity 🧪 www.nature.com/articles/s41...
