Based on the '97 film itself based on Hornby's '92 book, surprisingly cute adoption. Has it all, including the run and the public announcement. Can't really get over Fallon as an actor, but that's my fault.

Big plus: Doesn't act like it does anything new or interesting, some nice jokes and funny scenes.
But acting is kind of off and nearing the big finale they take the genre too seriously. The finale is funny again.

A bit unsure about the 'com'-part here. Almost everybody is miserable and slightly fed drunk almost all of the time - which is nice.
Feels a bit jumpy script-wise here and there, but has some really great shots. Gender performance is a bit icky.

So, I actually just went to the movies today. It's a cool movie. Funny, the right amount of depth. I think I got most of the jokes (relied too much on subtitles though).

Lives off the cast, particularly Sandra Bullock. Did she do any movie in the 90ies she wasn't great in? But you can do some ironing at the same time.

Also cute but a bit hastened in the end. Could have used some more drama (or at least portraied some more). But rather wholesome on the other hand.
And Tova Feldshuh was much more understanding in this one than in "Nobody wants this".

Two alternating stories told in parallel. Dramatic twists, drinking, big moments in the pouring rain. And british swearing. At least Top 10, maybe even Top 5.

Doesn't really contribute something new to the Genre but it's cute and funny. And has some not so surprising twists.
