this made me wonder if MLB had a protocol or whatever for two guys same name- even asynchroniously
i didn't look for more than a shortly, but it appears: they don't! at all!!
there have been three Randys Johnson from 80-09; two Pedros Martinez, overlapping from 93-97

pretty emblematic of the whole thing, the microsoft now (?) livestream for his name being twice downgraded from "watch his name come off" to "technical difficulties" to "watch his name not be on there any more when they take the tarp off"
hope someone's more sneakily getting that footage. i think this matters, a little bit- they are showing that they do not completely dominate the system, when they bow to a court order. slowly and with malicious compliance, sure, but they're bowing
