With the news on the UK's "Phase 2" of the Online Safety Act rolling out, my focus has shifted heavily. Today's tasks are all about digital resilience and decentralization:
š Boosting Alternative Networks: I have to push Solent.Social and the broader Fediverse much harder [ā¦]
Apart of the UK's new Ban on Social Media it's going to affect multiple places including YouTube.
This means UK YouTubers will most likely have to provide ID earlier than before along with anyone watching from the UK to watch content this could be the whole platform or for select content like [ā¦]
@[email protected] Wouldn't that be better off with the mobile provider instead of Apple and Google directly? In the end if you set up a 'kids' mobile number you could have restrictions on certain apps then.
Also what about things like @[email protected] as that is android based [ā¦]
@[email protected] Is there a way a small instance can request to have there videos from there instance on ā:loops:ā Loops as right now you need to have your instance whitelisted for ā:loops:ā Loops to see your video content what feels kinda broken compared to how the rest of the Fediverse [ā¦]
