Time flies! It's ten years exactly since I embarked on this long and enjoyable project with Steven Brindle to produce new visual reconstructions of Windsor Castle for his great book charting its thousand-year history. Here are some images of my developing model of the castle during the 1216 siege.
As I said elsewhere, this stretches credulity. It’s not an especially big stone, & could have been transported entirely by human agency. Ice took it to Doggerland in deep prehistory & then people took it to Norfolk by 7000BC, then others to Stonehenge in 2500BC??
