Elvis Alvarado had the nastiest reliever stuff last night at a 117 proStuff+, and he backed it up with a clean inning and two strikeouts. Trevor Megill was right there at 116, struck out three, and also kept a zero.
Ethan Roberts threw the best-graded cutter last night at a 161 proPitching+, six of them at 93.1 mph and a clean inning with two strikeouts. Robert Suarez was next at 152 and also kept a zero.
Elvis Alvarado threw the hardest pitch in baseball last night, topping out at 102.7, then backed it up with a clean inning and two strikeouts. Tyron Guerrero peaked at 101.9 but gave up a solo shot in a third of an inning. The gas was real on both ends.
Cade Smith leads all relievers with 21 shutdowns this season, and a 2.48 ERA with 49 punchies in 32 innings says the number is earned. Riley O'Brien is next at 19. Smith has been one of the most reliable arms in baseball out of the bullpen.
Jacob Misiorowski leads all pitchers in Win Probability Added at 2.81 this season. A 1.34 ERA and 131 punchies in 87 innings will do that. Cristopher Sanchez is next at 2.65, and Shohei Ohtani is in the mix at 1.06 ERA. This rotation is absurd.

Jacob Misiorowski and Cristopher Sanchez are deadlocked at 3.9 WAR atop the NL Cy Young race, and Shohei Ohtani is lurking at 1.06 ERA in 67.2 innings. Three different ways to be unhittable. Who pulls away?
Griffin Jax's sweeper was the best pitch graded last night at a 126 proStuff+. Seventeen thrown, six whiffs, 88 mph, and he went five innings without walking a soul. Cade Smith's splitter was close behind at 124.
Cam Schlittler leads the AL Cy Young race at 3.1 WAR, but Davis Martin is right on his heels at 2.9. A 1.82 ERA and 96 punchies in 89 innings for Schlittler, a 2.41 for Martin. Dylan Cease is lurking too. Who closes the gap?

Elvis Alvarado posted the best reliever proPitching+ last night at 147, a clean inning with two punchies to back it up. Robert Suarez was next at 144 and also kept a zero. The late innings were sharp.
The Dodgers sit atop baseball's power rankings at an ELO of 1582, though they slipped four points over the last week. The Brewers and Yankees are right behind them. Los Angeles still holds the top spot, but the lead is not comfortable.
