there are three skills that are unique to human beings alone of all life that explain our species’ dominance over the planet, and no, “language” and “tools” aren’t in them. they are - farming - cooking - baseball and to see people reject some or all of them in the modern era is beyond insulting

You have to - formally renounce loyalty to any other city (but you can still be a dual resident/citizen and no one cares) - complete a multiple choice test of basic trivia about a city (e.g., "how many buroughs in NYC") - eat a local delicacy
Major cities should have ceremonies akin to the US citizenship where you can become an "official" resident
