I spent my entire consultant career trying unsuccessfully to persuade residents in resp med to use LA for ABGs. The Lightowler and Elliott trial you cited was done in our department! On the plus side, when I needed my ABGs checking in that dept more recently I did get LA (I had asked - strongly)

My singing teacher asked me to pick some songs that I'd like to sing. She asked for male singers within my range. As I don't know her well, I ruled out a couple of songs because I feel too awkward to sing: "She was the first girl at school to get breasts." or "She wants to know am I still a slut?"
