As the British government delivers its guidance on “single sex spaces,” here is a painfully clear reminder from Australia that it’s possible (and actually pretty basic!) to pass legislation that ensures trans people are not discriminated against and are recognised in their gender. It’s not radical.
Thinking of Helen De Cruz suddenly today, and their guiding words for doing philosophy:
"We should write philosophy with a sense of urgency, a sense of survival, a sense of horror and wonder at the world."

Hmm…Let’s start with the ‘stop and search’ figures, shall we?
From the government’s latest figures:
“…there were 24.5 stop and searches for every 1,000 black people, and 5.9 for every 1,000 white people…”.
This sort of absolute vandalism is why we have been on strike. In what world does dismantling chemistry , materials science, and East Asian
Studies make sense?
