But that's not accurate, they're cut from an open pool of 5526 to 2500 (last year) and 4500 (this year). It's just a different set of readers. Previously it was readers hired by the Nicholl organization. Now it's readers hired by the Black List and the Writers Guild Foundation.
The Black List’s public portal for submissions opened last Monday. It stays open until July 6 or until we hit 2500 submissions, and it looks like the latter will be the constraint.

I appreciate the apology, but it's neither your fault nor your responsibility. You were expressing a concern in good faith, one that I completely understand and respect, which is why I was adamant about our preserving a public submission portal and continuing to provide a high level of service.
