Governments are chasing AI investment, even as their publics turn against the technology and the data centers that power it.
Canada’s Mark Carney has chosen a shameless approach: to cast the opposition as a lack of “literacy” as he sets out to (re)educate Canadians about the benefits of AI.
Carney is also a corporate lackey. Aside from the culture war, there's really not any substantive difference between PP and Carney.
There is no law against it. However political parties set up their own rules of governance as to who can and can't be a member.
The convention passed a resolution to work on dealing with this issue over the next couple of years so hopefully it will be resolved. If I was in BC I'd be doing the same as you.
True. Responsible dog owners are expected to "poop and scoop". Why not cops who ride horses?
I think your second post contradicts your first post. It's through building strong grassroots organization that a party outside the establishment bubble wins. Avi won the NDP leadership in a landslide win through a massive grassroots organizational effort involving thousands of volunteers.
Agreed. Avi doesn't need to be in the Ottawa bubble right now. He's traveling across the country talking with folks and building organization. He'll be in Toronto on July 9th for this event at TMU.

And the grassroots organizer in me will say, if you haven't signed up to become part of the effort, to do so. You're needed. Or at least kick in in a few bucks towards the effort. Hell, you'll get 75% of it back when you file your taxes next year. :)
