Since Trump’s 2017 tax law cut the corporate tax rate, America's biggest corporations have spent $4.8 trillion on stock buybacks. The top 10 corporations who bought back the most stock spent FIVE TIMES more on stock buybacks than they paid in taxes. This blew my mind.

Trump and his pack of industry lapdogs — who are busy regulating the same industries they have ties to— will do well thanks to all of this. But the rest of us won’t. We may not know for years the extent we are unprotected because of these conflicts of interest.

Goddamn that's fire.
Routine reminder that the most devastating cuts to social services in 2025's "Big Beautiful Bill" are timed to happen in 2027—safely past the midterms. SO many reasons to vote every Trump-enabling Republican out of office THIS year. Pick one, and make a plan to take others to the polls with you.

Mamdani's speech at the Knicks parade was easily the best I've ever heard at an event of that sort. I posted the whole thing on YouTube for your viewing pleasure. Highly recommended.

Social Security is earned, not given. We paid into it our entire working lives. Speaker Johnson knows how unpopular cuts would be. That’s why these conversations happen behind closed doors instead of out in the open. We earned these benefits. We’ll fight to keep them. #HandsOffSocialSecurity

Congrats to my friend Mark Rosenbaum, a lawyer whose work you almost certainly know even if you don’t know his name. His career has been spent fighting some of the country’s most important civil rights battles, often on behalf of people with little power and very few champions. Keep up the fight!
