i think it's funny that there is a subset of UKpol that is mad at the idea that "perhaps Labour could learn from contemporary work on the European electorate and the radical right" and that putting resources into funding that research would be better than relying on gurus
The over-hyping of Restore UK reflects several biases - taking over-confidence of activists on X too seriously - tendency to exaggerate reach of *overt* racism [about 1/4 of Reform 2024] "Restore vote was less than the BNP vote in 2010" says Tice (it was v similar: Restore 6.8% BNP 7.2%)
