AI can be an excellent tool for truth-seeking. But people may not *want* to use AI to search for the truth. Instead, they may prefer to use it to confirm their pre-existing beliefs.

We need an equivalent of "naïve realism" for values, norms and morals.
The challenge we all face in seeing the legitimacy and sincerity of others equally deeply-held values.
Vital for democracy, not easy in practice.

But other policy tools can be equally powerful:
organising and providing knowledge, especially science;
Providing learning and development to stakeholders and officials;
Convening stakeholders in communities of practice.
