I RPed this immediately because Jake is brilliant, but now I double plus recommend it.
I was already impressed by the thoughtfulness that went into Walking Dead and its choice moments, I’d never thought much about the significance of following up on those moments later on.

Rot13 speculation about the Raddle Mystery Theme:

Also hearing about the thoughtful design of Firewatch, which more subtly (and IMO powerfully) comes through: exploration of the space. and especially repetition and constraints, build up this feeling of familiarity and even nostalgia, so going to any new location feels foreign and a little scary.
We’ve gotten flowers and cards with condolences for Pazuzu, and once again I’m overwhelmed by how kind and thoughtful people can be.
Since I got laid off, it was really nice to develop this new routine of going to City Walk and seeing people treat it like a community center, with quinceañeras and such.
And I’d always watch a movie and then walk over to the smoking area and add my Letterboxd entry to complete the ritual.
I can’t blame autocorrect for “bug escalators” this time. I was typing big when a bug flew in my face.
Can’t help but be reminded of how flying back to ATL meant being greeted at the gate by my parents, to seeing them waiting for me at the area at the top of the bug escalators, to my riding up the escalators alone.
And they even turned that from a mural celebrating the Olympics into a big gray box.
Universal Hollywood moved their security gates to the entrance of city walk, not just the park itself.
Which makes seeing movies there much more of a hassle (have to wait in line with theme park crowds) and ruins another of the little bits of joy in my week.
The malaise is heavy lately.
"if you keep publicly shaming people for using AI, they will just hide that they're using AI"
yeah, that's sort of the point of shaming people.. right now, I'd rather they shamefully hide their use of it, than proudly show it, because with no profits all the AI co's. have is hype..
