In collaboration with @monicarosenb.bsky.social , we showed that individual diffs in LTM encoding is uniquely predicted by inter-electrode correlations even controlling for working memory abilities. This suggests that WM & LTM encoding are separate abilities coded by different neural signatures! 1/n
We also showed that both parietal and frontal old/new effects peaked significantly earlier for set size 1 than well-learnt set size 32 images, suggesting that access to working memory is significantly faster than even well-practiced long-term memory. More in the link above!
Specifically, we showed that LTM encoding IC generalized between set size 32 and 128, two overcapacity list lengths. Moreover, LTM encoding abilities was coded by alpha band passed inter-electrode correlations but not beta or theta ICs. The full paper is open accessed at the Imaging Neuro link. 2/n
Special thanks to my advisor Ed and Monica’s help and feedback 💓3/n
With @edvogel.bsky.social and our team, we found that with repeated learning of image sequences (set size 32), the parietal old/new effect (shown below), but not frontal old/new effect, exhibited enhanced amplitude and earlier peak latency. 1/2
🚨🚨 Job Alert! 🚨🚨
We are seeking a full-time Study Coordinator for a
NIMH-funded project that aims to uncover cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying maladaptive food-choice behavior in anorexia nervosa using behavior, eye tracking, fMRI, and computational models. Pls spread the word!
The Naturalistic Cognitive Computational Neuroscience Lab is launching at UT Austin and is looking for founding members at all levels, including lab manager, PhD students, and postdocs! #NeuroJobs
We will study human brain🧠and memory & attention, using fMRI and modeling.
