All excellent pedagogical ideas! There is the limitation of course that it is not necessarily representative and that we do not screen for quality. Part of your Take 5, Pick 1 idea would presumably be considering such a quality, with then a discussion of why they think that makes something 'better'.
For avoidance of doubt, we agree entirely! While we don't sanction trying to trick people into believing an award is more meaningful than it really is, all awards are made up. DH Awards is just an invention that draws attention to Digital Humanities resources. Luckily, we have no prizes or medals!
PoeTree is a second runner up in DH Awards 2025! very grateful to be there alongside amazing Sappho Digital by @luntner.bsky.social and the winner -- beautiful History of Internet in Columbia project historiasinternet.uniandes.edu.co
Thank you for every vote! I am really happy that Sappho Digital turned out to be the first runner-up in the category »DH Dataset or Model« of the Digital Humanities Awards 2025! I’d like to use this moment to introduce the project a bit more – so here’s a short thread 🧵
Awww, thank you. I'm glad you think it is useful, and congrats on winning the ShortPub category. Feel free to use the (admittedly crappy) category icon if you wish!

DH Awards
I wrote up a quick set of teaching ideas in honor of this year's @dhawards.bsky.social. Here are a few different ways that I might use that site in the classroom with students to find new projects, think critically, and speculatively design their own awards. walshbr.com/blog/teachin...
This is very funny but also... all awards are made up.
The results for #DH Awards 2025 are now live. Sorry if your favoured resource did not win in this openly nominated, openly voted #DigitalHumanities awareness activity. There's no real prize (winners may use the associated icon), other than everyone seeing the resources. dhawards.org/dhawards2025...
Huge thanks to @dhawards.bsky.social // @jamescummings.bsky.social for organizing these awards! Echoing others: it's such an awesome contribution to the community, and a wonderful way to showcase all the great DH work done throughout the year. dhawards.org/dhawards2025...
