I've also seen someone join in the middle of an ad break or refresh during the ad break and they get the full break cycle over again. If someone joins 90 seconds in for example they could get 3 minutes over again.
Just from my experience in the past. Things may have changed, I keep Turbo nowadays.

ugh, same happened on my laptop and I haven't bothered to reinstall WSL
I've also seen the inverse where someone has a 3 minute ad break and they only get 2 minutes (probably inventory related).
