Exciting evening with groups of up to 15 #Swifts screaming around our area of #Lewes and lots of banging by prospecting Swifts!

Up to 14 screaming #Swifts. In De Montfort Road, #Lewes, last night, two more boxes are now occupied by Swifts. One is a new one where they have never been seen before and the other has had Swifts for over 20 years.
Here are some of the Swifts flying over St. Anne's Church.
Wonderful screaming parties of #Swifts along De Montfort Road tonight and we saw an entry to a nest box at the rear of Western Road. Three entries and two exits at St. Anne's Church and up to 11 Swifts swooping around our area of #Lewes.
Five #Swift nests at The Maltings and 7 in Station Street - bringing our 2026 total to 65 in #Lewes -only five fewer than this time last year.
Fantastic news from St. John's Terrace - one of the artificial House Martin cups that we installed there on 6th May is now occupied!
A quiet day and evening with very few #Swifts about between the showers of rain. We saw one entry at St. Anne's Church, #Lewes, and two further up Western Road. Three very loud screamers zooming about after 9.30!
