A working group becomes a standing committee. Additional reporting structures are added. Over time, governance frameworks grow, but they are not always reviewed with the same enthusiasm that created them.
Governance Or Bureaucracy? Good governance requires oversight and accountability. But governance should also support effective and timely decision-making.
The challenge for leaders is knowing when an additional committee strengthens governance and when it simply adds another layer between a problem and a decision. ________________________________________
