Some games get better with age. Some games get modernized and lose a little of what made them special. And then there's the Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake, a game that somehow manages to do both at the same time. Check out my written thoughts. 🦋 theretrowildlands.com/blog/fatal-f...

It's real...!
I'm so excited for Star Fox's return on the Switch 2. Oh how far that series has come since the FX chip days of the Super Nintendo!
Nothing pairs better with the high-speed dogfighting of Ace Combat 5 than Turbo Reaper from 3 Floyds Brewing. The dragon on the can would be awesome painted on the side of that F-14, too!
I can't stop thinking about the Resident Evil Veronica reveal today. I played the original RE Code: Veronica so long ago, on the Sega Dreamcast of all consoles. So what's everyone else's thoughts? Excited? Can't be bothered? Let me know, I'm dying to talk to you all about this!
Fatal Frame II Remake delivers stunning visuals and chilling atmosphere, but some modern additions come at a surprising cost.

A new episode is live! Luigi is back… and somehow more anxious than ever. In this episode of The Retro Wildlands, I dive into Luigi’s Mansion 3. This game surprised me in all the best ways. But it wasn’t all smooth vacuuming... Check out the show here (link below) or on your favorite podcast app!
Another written review is up! Check out Necrophosis! Grotesque visuals, disturbing sound design, cryptic storytelling, and one of the most uncomfortable horror atmospheres I’ve experienced in years. But beneath the horror, does the game actually work? theretrowildlands.com/blog/necroph...

I finally got my hands on a Holy Grail item I've been looking for! The 3rd Birthday Twisted Edition is something I've always wanted in my collection. I know the game killed the Parasite Eve series stone dead, but I still enjoyed it. Maybe it was because I saw glimpses of what could have been.
