Romance languages folks….. is there a term in any Latinate language for rooing, that is, plucking or pulling sheep wool off a sheep by hand as opposed to using shears. Especially old Romance tongues? Asking for a friend….

Your wildflowers are so lovely - I am growing rudbeckia and gaillardia from seed for my formal beds this year (UK) when they just appear in your sward!
We call 4 o clocks ‘Marvel of Peru’ in UK. They were hard to grow - too much damp, cool weather - but climate change is making summers warmer and they are easier now. So lovely. Are yours scented?
The wing could be from a sparrowhawk. When we lived in Devon, a sparrowhawk regularly took pigeons to a little corner at the top of the garden and leave only the gristly wing/shoulder joints. Every time. Like leaving its crusts.
The magpies stuck to young birds and fledglings.
