📢 Press release: The antimalarial toolbox just expanded, bringing hope to the smallest patients. The first #malaria treatment for newborns and young infants has been approved by @swissmedic.bsky.social, with fast-track approvals expected across Africa.
Recent cuts in global health funding could result in 15 million additional #Malaria cases and over 100,000 deaths. Investments in #GlobalHealth are needed - not just as an act of solidarity, but also as a strategic investment in Switzerland's resilience, prosperity, and security. Read more 👇
Congrats to #Suriname for becoming the first malaria-free country in the Amazon region! This milestone is the result of decades of implementing a responsive & inclusive control programme. However, maintaining this status requires ongoing #surveillance in collaboration with neighbouring countries.
It‘s been an exciting first day of our symposium “Malaria in Focus” at @swisstph.ch. Presentations covered exciting work done to increase our understanding of #malaria & drive innovation into new & better tools.
