The funny thing about Braden Montgomery hitting a walk-off on the night Bob Costas is doing a throwback broadcast is that people were simply not named Braden back when Bob Costas was doing those old-school broadcasts
From Mets: Jorge Polanco experienced ankle soreness and will not play in Syracuse. He will return for NY for further evaluation. We will have additional updates once he’s evaluated in NY.
Mets say Kodai Senga will not make his scheduled start with Double-A Binghamton today due to ulnar nerve irritation (right upper arm).
Senga said that because he hasn’t performed as he wanted, he’s been practicing more, and experienced more fatigue. That led him to get treatment that irritated his arm more than expected. Said he wouldn’t even call it inflammation, played catch today, expects to start again soon.
Mendoza said Mets consulted specialists even overseas on Polanco and “shutting him down wasn’t an option.” Suggested he will try to take BP soon, maybe control running, etc. Said ultimately they might have to get him back as a DH only and set defense aside until injury calms down
Mets activate Francisco Alvarez, as @WillSammon just said they would. He tore his meniscus on May 12. It’s June 9.
Mets say Austin Warren will start Wednesday and expected Wednesday starter Christian Scott will start Thursday instead.
