There’s always one really intense sunset photo I manage to capture every roadtrip, and this past May it was seen from the highway. Here’s a painting of that image.

This summer I’m gonna keep chipping away at my boats reference folder until it’s empty.
As of late I’m favoring knife-only painting for plein air. That’ll probably last a couple of months; I still “go through phases”. This one is a 6”x8”.
While driving home I saw an impending thunderstorm make an unusually awesome lightning strike, but by the time I pulled over and got out my phone, the sky didn’t flash again. Painted from memory and a crude little drawing I did with my finger on my iPhone.
