I often see people complaining that schools don’t teach real-world skills. Yeah, they do. #MEpolitics #MEschools

Wow! This is a massive undertaking. #MEpolitics
A long thread, but worth it. #MEpolitics
If it matters to the Platner people in Maine, the country is watching and not liking what they see. Do better on Tuesday. #MEpolitics
This is only one of several posts about how the changes to the Affordable Care Act is, and will be, affecting Maine enrollees. Over $150 per month increase for premiums; about $100 in out-of-pocket expenses. It's easy to see where this is headed... #MEPolitics
The “suddenly, magically” modifiers are so accurate. #MEpolitics
@charlesgaba.com has been posting these regularly; today was Maine’s turn. #MEpolitics
Has anyone heard what #Maine is doing? #MEpolitics
Since some of the elections today may need a second round of counting for a final determination, here is the link for information about that process: www.maine.gov/sos/election... #MEpolitics

The ruling affirmed the Democratic secretary of state’s decision to invalidate thousands of signatures due in part to circulator fraud and misconduct.
The Planetary Society built an interactive side-by-side "track changes" comparison for the proposed OMB rules. They show exactly what the current rules say versus what the proposed rules would change, section by section, across all *399* affected provisions. dashboards.planetary.org/rules-change/ 🧪🔭
There’s an air quality alert today in the greater Bangor area, so I went down a rabbit hole this morning to understand why the former waste-to-energy plant in Orrington, Maine is on fire yet again, after a “once in a career” fire to the facility in 2024 and trash pile fires in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Posting this to explain that if you doubt that a conservative woman (you don't like) can be assaulted and confined by a (suddenly magically just now) progressive man (with a fetish for rape, killing, Nazi tats), you are perpetrating a form of systemic violence against victims of domestic violence.
A great thread and a perfect example of how the Democratic coalition can collapse: you back someone like Platner because he mouths things about populist politics, and all of a sudden women, GSM, and ethnic minorities no longer feel safe in the big tent, because you privilege white men over others.

Here's what this all boils down to: Net *premiums* jumped from ~$2,900 per enrollee last year to nearly ~$4,100 this year...a 39% increase. Net *out of pocket* expenses shot up from ~$2,800 per enrollee last year to ~$3,800 this year...up ~34%. Combined, that's an avg. net hike of ~$2,100 apiece.
