Spatial Insurance of Distinct Ecological Functions Communities can act as functional sources and sustain rare ecological roles across space. We reveal patterns of functional vulnerability for plants and birds Check out our Perspective in Ecol Lett 👉 onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/... 🌐🌍🦤🪴🍁🧪
In our October issue: Perspective by Daniele Silvestro and Catalina Pimiento (@pimientoc.bsky.social) discusses the opportunities for AI to advance paleontological research. 🧪🌎 bit.ly/48ujlDn Readcube: rdcu.be/eKYfm
We are delighted to announce that @pimientoc.bsky.social will be giving this year's Darwin Day Lecture. Her talk on the causes and consequences of extinctions in the oceans will be held on 11 February in GKT1 from 4-5pm. This will be followed by cheese and wine in the Zoology Museum. All welcome.
Very proud of @kristinakocakova.bsky.social's work, just published OA in Proceedings B. We found new extinction events amongst sharks and rays and negative age-dependency, which was persistent through time, regardless of extinction intensity.... 🧵👇
