I baptized a college student this morning in a little gathering before mass so that her mom in Shanghai could join by WhatsApp video. It was darling! Hsin Yue translated my homily into Mandarin for her mom and we all had a little two-way-translated visit afterward. 🕯️

This is all to say, this government has long been hostile to those who advocate strongly against fascism—even Episcopal nuns in Kentucky during the War! Why would expect anything less from the current administration? 🕯️
I finished the biography of Rachel Hosmer, OSH, an Episcopal nun, General Seminary professor, and among the first generation of women ordained ti the priesthood. During WWII, her Order sponsored a child whose parents were sent to a concentration camp. 🕯️ Because of this advocacy, this happened:
One of my college friends was among the 15 arrested on federal conspiracy charges here in Minnesota following Operation Metro Surge. The government alleges that these people are all part of an organized and violent “antifa” network. I can guaran-damn-tee you that the whole thing is malarkey.
