Join me in supporting Shaniqua! (I would love it if she came to Baltimore, a lot of trans folks feel, and are, safer here!) 💜
And people who aren't queer need to learn about our histories, movements and experiences from us, too. The book is a guide to aligning political understanding, spiritual wisdom & practical action, which is needed now more than ever. Thanks for reading! ❤️🔥
Learning about Black feminism/womanism, Indigenous water and forest protectors, freedom for Palestine, MeToo, women's movements in Iran, antifascist organizing, and the Occupy Movement against the ultra wealthy are ALL related to queer struggles and all impact queer people.
It was important to me to write a book that didn't require someone to see it as "for them" based on any single identity first. Everyone should know the histories and practical lessons from major social movements and be exposed to subcultures they've only known to avoid.
& there are guides for exploring gender & sexuality through Tarot, magic and self-reflection who are incredible at what they do, who have impacted me, and who are my personal friends, including @mxcassandrasnow.bsky.social @thewordwitch.bsky.social @tamsin.reimaginedgirl.com @thegenderdoula.com
I don't often get included in queer Tarot/magic book lists & I get it: this book is not an exploration of personal identity & that was on purpose. Not that exploring one's own queerness isn't important; I am a deeply reflective person & have clearly had to do a ton of inner work to arrive where I am
Happy/Kickass Pride, y'all! Will you consider adding 78 Acts of Liberation to your seasonal reading rec list or ask for it to be put in your local bookstore, library, or infoshop display? I'm a transgender author & everything I write is informed by my radical queerness! Please share, thank you! 💖🔥🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
