Once again the Onion nails it.
A reminder that injecting shitty ads and a shitty UX is a choice a media company makes. Whether it’s belly fat ads or chum box ads, the promise of easy revenue rarely pays off (except for executive leadership). Choosing traffic over audience is a killer.
Look at the insane rant below, then look at the headline in the NYT. The emperor is stark naked running down the street with poop smearing down his leg, and the NYT declares that he is taking a leisurely stroll in the most elegant clothing that only the most sophisticated Elite can appreciate.
One of the reasons media companies lose readership is because publishers choose ad revenue over user experience. Treat your reader like shit and let alone they won’t click on your ads, they’ll stop coming to your site.
American taxes paying $300 billion to rebuild Iran because the president of the United States decided to bomb Iran because he didn't like how the black former President cut a better deal. Is that right? Again: never let a Republican get away with "how are we gonna pay for" [insert social program]

You know who else decried the ethnic cleansing of ethnic Germans in Germany?
This can also be true of Americans, no? According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been 5,858 deaths by guns and 10,648 injuries by gun in the country so far this year. www.gunviolencearchive.org
Wonder when companies pick up what their employees are putting down vis-a-vis employee disaffection over AI. If you have to shove this technology down people's' throats maybe it's not that good? www.wsj.com/finance/stat...
Sorry, this is on me: "Mike Myers has claimed that a long-awaited fourth “Austin Powers” movie is happening, albeit with a single word and absolutely zero elaboration." variety.com/2026/film/gl...
