so here we go, my pitch for how you'd fix Star Trek Discovery is that S2 goes into S3's plot and setting, but we say "this is a sector of space the Federation has little presence in & hasn't explored much", the events of S1 mean Discovery is more on its own, and the look gets a bit more TOS (1)
