Taking time out today to mark a big day in our house! I may feel pride in my work sometimes, but I am unfailingly proud of my daughter (and of being her mum) always!
Excited+also *a little* nervous to be talking words+suicide loss next week-pondering on my (derived over time) learning/thinking about language as a person bereaved by suicide. Words that are lost; taken away; imposed; discovered; physically felt and require navigation/redefinition…Wish me 🍀 pls!
Campus looking hermosísimo this morning!!!
Lush to’ve been with York St John University Centre for Language+Social Justice Research staff for today’s Festival of Ideas session. “Westminster needs to wake up to this need for joined-up thinking if we are to limit the number of...Essexes, Hertfordshires & Nottinghams...UK universities are a precious commodity. Ten years of dropping this commodity to see where the pieces land is not an education policy worthy of the name.” 1/2
Close of Academic Year 2025/6 doth appear on the horizon…. ❤️🎓#AcademicSky
Taking 5 mins in the YSJ peace garden before next teaching session ☀️🌳❤️
A YSJ Writing Retreat morning, during which I set aside all screens in favour of handwriting and thinking. I scribble-reflected for 10 pages, and it was nothing short of blissful. I’ve now a structure for my autoethnography on ‘survivor’ in the context of sibling suicide loss #AcademicSky 🎉 😀☀️📝✒️
Love that the train driver this morning has asked the entire passenger load for name suggestions for the Dachshund puppy he’s bring home at the weekend! 🐶
