Loved hearing this profile of Senait and the creative work she and her peeps are doing to make ownership a reality for their community. AND WTF are we doing to make housing stability so fragile?
Ten THOUSAND people applied for the Seattle social housing lottery! People are eager for permanently affordable, publicly owned housing. Their housing and financial security depends on it.
I'm calling this another win for the former D2 Crew! Congrats to @devinsilvernail.bsky.social who supported my office in passing the Just Cause Eviction ordinance a few years ago. First Social Housing, then LWB, now this. Gratifying to know we made a material difference for Seattle.

Following @selenagomezfanpage.bsky.social because I love Only Murders in the Building and because SHE'S A SPURS FAN!!! GO SPURS GO!!
Rainier Beach Skatepark is nearing completion of Phase 1 to provide youth and families with a dedicated place to enjoy wheeled activities!
To complete the planned community art elements, we need to raise $80,000. Will you donate today and help us make this vision a reality?
I just donated again via the Seattle Parks Foundation website. It's EASY PEASY to help fund the mural being contemplated!
If Manhattan can do it, Seattle can do it!
Welcome to the @seasocialhousing.bsky.social team Véronique!

With housing costs out of reach for many people in Seattle, more city residents are thinking about going in with friends to buy homes together.
The news is in — not only have Seattleites voted for social housing twice, but thousands applied to our first housing lottery. The support and need for social housing in Seattle is clear. We are in the process of notifying applicants of their status. www.seattletimes.com/business/rea...

Seattle’s first social housing building has just 150 apartments. The number of applicants to move in is a sign of the city’s need for affordable housing.
