This is the same resentment that fuels the annoyance with the "anti-bedtime left", where any attempt to change systems in order to lessen suffering is seen as an immature inability to accept that suffering is necessary in order to live in the world.
These people would've been saying the same thing about the 40 hour work week or paid medical leave or any other number of the labor gains of the early 20th century.
They hate that trans people think they don't deserve to suffer like they did. They're too afraid to reckon with the idea that they didn't deserve to suffer either, but their suffering is instead the price they pay for the benefits of their class/whiteness, their deal with the devil to be on top.
One of the things that angers transphobes so much about trans people is that we dare to present an idea of gender that isn't based in oppression. They suffer in patriarchy and resent anyone who takes on a gender role and rejects the suffering, which they'll never do because they're married to it.
I think one of those things that easily recontextualizes childhood for a lot of people is seeing all the adults you'd never come in contaxt with who think it's not just acceptable but necessary to behave in that exact way
