Really glad that @larryglickman.bsky.social made this point about my thesis on the "de-South-ification" of Virginia (and, possibly, North Carolina and Georgia, too). I submit that we are seeing a real countervailing trend in some places against the "southernization" of politics that many have noted.

Bigger story here is states like Virginia are undergoing what I call "de-south-ification." Spanberger's 15-point win shows power shifting away from rural areas in VA. Also to lesser extent in NC and GA. At some point Spanberger will have to address this rebellion.
