Look, dogmatic AI hate is frustrating and unproductive from a practitioners view but if you don’t have the maturity and respect to see it in the same frame as vaccine hesitancy you gotta go take a walk and try to develop a theory of mind of other people as real if you actually want any progress

why the hell would I want to invest my money in a product that can be forked by someone else?
real ones will know, the masses won’t.
Taking this further:
Normalize donating to underfunded community initiatives in areas you want to see change.
You don’t even need to use the products. Someone will use them and not be able to donate. Pay for them.
This especially true if you’re also a dev being paid an insane salary in tech.
I think the differentiator really is imagination at this point. I'm seeing a few things floating around which give me the sense that we're not dreaming bigger, and that worries me.
