I left the game industry as a vice president after 15 years in 2015. I was never let go or fired.
It was the best decision I’ve ever made.
For the last 11 years I’ve made a better, more stable living creating pen and papers #TTRPG games.
This should TERRIFY game devs.

I will say this much: there is zero shame in leaving the game industry. Be it because you're not finding your next role, or because you're tired of it and need a break. The industry doesn't deserve the people who work in it, and you owe it nothing.
