31. Arizona Sunshine 2
I enjoyed playing through this sequel in PSVR2. A good range of weapons to take out all the Fred's 🧟♂️ and Buddy is your faithful sidekick to fend off the zombies. Some climbing and light puzzle solving enhance the gameplay.

31. Truxton
I had heard a lot of good things about this and finally got around to playing it through. Wow, what a fantastic shmup 🚀
I much preferred this to something like Thunder Force III, although it was almost too easy when you get the 5 blue lightning shot ⚡
Great boss battles and smartbomb

I was really enjoying playing this on the Dreamcast, and then it was abruptly over
Surprisingly short but entertaining and challenging. The level with the tornado was cool, and I liked the slipstreaming 🚛🌀

28. Mortal Kombat 11
Decided to wrap up on this after the recent movie. Played a decent amount of the Krypt, did some towers, and wrapped up the campaign and the Aftermath DLC.
Also bought some of the DLC characters so nice to mess around with Robocop, Terminator, Rambo etc.

27. Michael Jackson's Moonwalker
I still remember seeing this in the arcades for the first time and blowing through my pocket money a lot faster than usual - it was the first game that cost more than 20c to play 🪙
Cool screen bomb where enemies dance and die 💣 and robot transformations 🤖

26. R-Type III: The Third Lightning ⚡
Some great scrolling parallax backgrounds and a great looking game, nice sprite work.
I wasn't a fan of the force pod and some enemies like the tentacle just felt like luck to get passed. Old bosses felt lazy. Spider boss was cool. Not my fave.

25. R-type Final 2
Enjoyed this one, the graphics are superb. Loads of ships and weapons to try out.
The end of level bosses are not the best in the series but they all feel familiar.
Loads of replayability and multiple paths to explore, plenty of difficulty options to help out.

24. Swordship
Finally managed to beat the boss on beginner level. Took some getting used to, but once you realise its a dodge em up and not a shoot em up, it clicks.
Its a short game, but a lot of replay value here even once completed, and one I'll be coming back to for a quick blast!

23. Lorelei and the Laser Eyes
Heard good things and glad I tried this one out. If you like puzzle games, this is one to definitely check out! 🧩
The beauty of it is that it's different for everyone's play through so you can't just look up answers online, but the fundamental logic is the same

22. X-Out Resurfaced
Tried my best to git gud at this shooter and I can finish level 1 quite easily, but I had to make use of the inbuilt trainer to see the rest of the game.
Classic old skool shooter remastered with updated music and enhanced graphics, hard as nails through 😬

21. Sly Spy
Played through the Amiga version, a real mix of gameplay styles like skydiving, motorcycle chases, and side-scrolling shooting. Apparently it was an arcade game.
The way it rips off James Bond is astounding with boss fights featuring blatant copies of Odd Job and Jaws.

20. Space Ace
Whew, and I thought Dragon's Lair was tricky!
Played through the Sega Mega CD version, a bit grainy but still good looking FMV.
There were some very tight QTEs in some sections. At least this one has a bit more replayability with multiple paths for Dexter and Ace 🔫

19. Panzer Dragoon Remake
Forgot I had this on the Switch. Not a very long game, and since I've never played the original Saturn game, I can't say how much of a remake this is.
Plenty of variety in the levels and vibrant colours, it's just all over very quickly 🐉

18. Streets of Rage
Played through this on the Game Gear. The sprites are small and pixelated but it's a solid conversion. That pipe hits hard!
It's a pity the screen clearing special powers are missing, and there are only two characters.
Bosses are tricky like the last guy with the gun 🔫 😬

17. X-Men
With the Marvel Maximum Collection coming out soon, I thought it was high time I play through this arcade game 🪙
The normal enemies are cannon fodder but the end of level supe bosses are cool, as are the twists with Mystique and the showdown with Magneto 🧲 #Games2026

16. Neva
Another gorgeous game from @nomada.studio makers of Gris
Slow to start but a heartwarming tale. Wonderfully clever puzzles and mechanics that keep you pushing forward and you don't get stuck for too long
Smashed through the DLC too which adds new enemies & features. Don't miss this 💎

15. Streets of Rage 4
Finally managed to finish this with the help of my daughter, as stage 12 is quite tricky as a single player. I've been stuck on it for ages!
Lots of additional unlockable characters with the Mr. X Nightmare DLC.
The art style is a really cool modern upgrade. #Games2026

Games finished 2026, a thread:
1. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Equal parts frustrating as entertaining, I enjoyed my time with it. The constant need to upgrade equipment & level up all the time felt like bloat, but when it clicked 🏹 Some great animations embed you in the world, 60 hrs playtime
