Huge thanks to @bowloflentils.bsky.social and TrekkiesUnite for their time and effort to further polish the patch for this game!
you have to repost shit like this, because just talking about it makes you sound like an insane conspiracy theorist parroting lies they read on facebook. Like if I told someone this happened, they'd roll their eyes like I was a freak and it'd damage any credibility I had left. you know?

April 2026 marks the 28th anniversary of Sakura Wars 2 and the 1 year anniversary of our fan translation for the game. To celebrate the occasion, the team has published an update to the patch that fixes various typos and a few untranslated graphics. Enjoy!

Thanks to everyone that has been submitting issues with the Sakura Wars 2 patch to our Google form. However, we've been having some trouble replicating the bugs that are being reported. If possible, please resubmit your issue and also provide a link to your save file. Thank you.

Sakura Wars 2 contains a post-game mode called Long Day that contains a bunch of cool bonus content. One of the small extras I enjoyed was the ability to watch flashbacks of certain scenes through the perspective of the heroines. These include rare sprites of Ogami that you don’t see anywhere else.
Here's the excellent Sakura Wars 2, which is newly translated into English for the first time by a team including @noahsteam.bsky.social, and a bit about how it (and Sakura Wars in general) was doomed from the start outside of Japan, given the way Sega of America worked and the Saturn's low sales.

So overall, Sakura Wars 2 is a quintessential example of a perfect sequel. It's just genuinely such an improvement over the first game in every way and it's a near perfect game in my book honestly. VERY VERY great stuff and I highly recommend both this and the first game!

Also shoutouts to the translation team! They did a DAMN good job on this game that I imagine was a fucking nightmare to program and get functioning in a modded state lmao. There's so much love poured into the translation, dare I say as much as was put into the game by the devs.
Finished Sakura Wars 2: Thou Shalt Not Die
A perfect sequel in practically every way. They took every aspect of the first game that worked and improved upon it, while also simultaneously making some of the weaker aspects of the first game even better. Absolutely fantastic game. Longish thread:
