This is fucking vile. I worked in a victim's role for a few years and any conversations I had with prosecution solicitors in this regard was that they very much wanted them gone. An appalling minister this guy.

The Dáil has voted 78 to 68 to defeat a bid from opposition parties to prevent the use of counselling notes in sexual assault prosecutions. Justice minister Jim O’Callaghan said his legal advice was that counsellors’ notes should be available, and that they can be of value in securing a prosecution.
