In early June of 2015, I sat anxiously by my computer. Bethesda had posted Fallout‘s classic “Please Stand By” screen along with a 24-hour countdown. As the minutes ticked closer to zero, my mind raced with excitement over what was to come. New game? Remake? Spin-off? When the time finally came, we were treated to the official announcement of Fallout 4. It was such an exciting moment. The feelings surrounding that announcement are something I’ll never forget. It was all I...
For as exciting as it was, last week’s Switch 2 Ocarina of Time remake announcement did not provide much in the way of actual information. We know from the brief reveal trailer and the accompanying press release that the game will be a “return of the critically acclaimed Nintendo 64 classic for a new generation” complete with updated visuals. But beyond that, there exist a lot of question marks. How much has changed? How much will the gameplay differ from the original?...
Summer Game Fest 2026 recently wrapped up after nearly a week of game announcements and presentations. While events like The Mix Summer Game Showcase and Day of the Devs gave indie developers time to shine, the tentpoles of the event were showcases from major publishers Sony and Microsoft, with their Sony State of Play and Xbox Games Showcase, respectively. These presentations generated a ton of buzz with, among other things, our first look at Santa Monica’s God of War: Laufey,...
The reports are real – Nintendo is bringing us a reborn Ocarina of Time this year! Although the reveal trailer from the latest Nintendo Direct may have been on the shorter side for a title of this caliber, it’s given us plenty of fuel for speculation about the game. One prominent aspect of the remake in the reveal is Ocarina of Time’s new art style. Most major console Zelda art styles over the last two decades were cartoony or painterly....
To Go Alone Book Five – Sins of the Sheikah Previous Chapters || Next Chapter Chapter 5 One year later. Sage, ten years old, looks down at the goron mountain home. She wishes she were here to save the gorons. She heard months ago that they were all made prisoners of their own home. But the gorons aren’t her priority. She had debated it for months, as she went from village to village, hunting monsters for money. Eventually, she had come...
Well, well, well… the rumors were true. Whether you’re feeling elation or disillusionment after the recent Nintendo Direct, a complete, Switch 2-exclusive remake of Ocarina of Time is planned for release at some point this year. Details are of course sparse, and it feels odd getting a release year of “2026” for such a big project when we’re already halfway through said year, but until Nintendo drops more highly sought-after morsels of information, especially gameplay footage and a firm release...

I can’t believe it. After decades of wishful thinking, Ocarina of Time is finally getting a proper remake on home consoles. Coming to the Switch 2 later this year, this remake (unlike the 2011 3DS game) appears to be a complete reimagining of the classic Zelda adventure. How much will this new game change the beloved tale? What will stay the same? Whatever the outcome, the clock is ticking so you’d best be ready when it gets here. Maybe I’m a bit biased, but...
Following this past week’s reveal of an Ocarina of Time remake, the annual Zelda hype cycle is now in full swing. You know what that means: it’s time to spend the next several months speculating about what we might see in this re-imagined version of the 1998 classic. Fortunately, it shouldn’t be too much longer before we learn more, as the game is slated for a 2026 release. So, while we’re still relatively in the dark about this project, I’ve...
Nintendo Directs never disappoint! This morning, we got many teases for upcoming games, expansions, and a certain remake (but we will get to that one later). A few highlights for me included a new DLC expansion for Pokémon Pokopia, which allows you to traverse underwater worlds and lets those water Pokémon thrive, Splatoon Raiders, which looks like an absolute riot and a fantastic addition to the series, and let’s not forget the Nintendo Switch Sports Resort showcase! As a fan of...
