In a bit of a converting mood today with these Mordians. Swapped out a chainsword on this sergeant for a pace stick made out of plastic rod.
"STILL! STAAAAND STILL, THE FRONT RANK! All ready for the attack now sir. Can't face the Tyranid hordes with undressed lines, can we now sir?"
It's been another busy day at work, so I sat down to do an evening's worth of edge highlighting on this Kronos-pattern combat engine. These are Horus Heresy robots associated with the lost II. Legion, the Myriad.
Hosting a Legions Imperialis day at Chez Krieg.
- ambient battle music on
- army ready and neatly laid out in formation
- army lore book ready for inspection by my opponent
- custom dice and tokens ready
- desert/city board set up
- kettle on, mini quiches in the fridge
Let battle commence!
Just put the finishing touches to a small 1,000pt 40K force - World Eaters, something a bit different to my usual Guard forces. These have Heresy era armour schemes and lots of chipping, weathering, and blood effects. Happy with the final results.
Yesterday's Legions Imperialis game was a nailbiter. I was hugely overmatched in firepower and suffered heavy losses early on. But a flanking Legion Recon Company stole both enemy home objectives and launched a deadly assault in the rear. Not quite enough to win - 63-58 to the Auxilia in the end.
The first half of my big Legions Imperialis order is complete and I have three Horus Heresy formations - two Leman Russ companies and a Shadowsword company. Next I'll be working on some lore for the Hecatine Armoured Brigade, and how they came to be trapped on Tallarn fighting the Iron Warriors.
Finished another batch of tanks for the Tallarn Reborn armoured formation. These will be the Hecatine Armoured Brigade - a former light infantry unit caught on Tallarn when it was virus bombed, who are forced to use the tanks in sealed storage to fight the Iron Warriors invaders.
My first Legions Imperialis kits have arrived so I can get started on my loyalist Solar Auxilia tank brigade. This is my first test model, a standard Leman Russ, and the colour scheme that inspired it.
Discovered that seated Mordian heavy bolter gunners fit nicely onto the back of Hermes light Sentinels. These will make great alternative scout vehicles for my Mordian cityfight army.
Some people asked about my quick reference sheets earlier this week, so here they are for Horus Heresy. The idea is to have all the main rules on 2 sides of A4 - didn't quite manage it here but this is pretty easy to flick between during a game. Hope it's useful.

It wouldn't be a weekend away without a new project to plan! Love taking army lists and lore books away with me on holiday to get started on something new. Thinking about a Tallarn Reborn loyalist tank brigade...
