Official account of the Canadian Cancer Society. Nothing big gets solved by one person. To take on cancer, it takes all of us. It takes a society. 💛
Canadian Cancer Society
Among the most impactful moments was hearing from Dana Bellis, our amazing patient partner from Haida Gwaii, who shared her lived experience as a caregiver for her mother with pancreatic cancer in a remote community.
Beyond the sessions, it was the moments of connection that stood out, meeting like-minded researchers, exchanging ideas, and gathering Canadians together to celebrate our collective impact. Advancing cancer control takes a global community. 🌍
We were honoured to represent Canada on the world stage alongside the CIHR Institute of Cancer Research, both learning from global leaders and contributing our expertise through a featured plenary session. 🍁
Don’t miss what’s happening on our YouTube channel. 📲 Explore trusted cancer information, hear real stories from people affected by cancer across Canada, and see the life-changing research your support makes possible. Watch and subscribe: https://bit.ly/4uEhAMc

Today, New Brunswick joins fellow provinces in protecting the jobs of people facing serious illness like cancer. That means #JobProtectedLeave is in place across every province, so more Canadians can take time to treat and recover without fear of losing their job 💛 Read more: https://bit.ly/3S40Q2w
We welcome the new national target of under 5% nicotine use by 2045, in addition to the existing target of under 5% tobacco use by 2035. We urge federal and provincial governments to endorse these targets, and to implement a comprehensive series of initiatives to achieve them. https://bit.ly/4vqwFki
On #WorldNoTobaccoDay, we join with the @who.int seeking to counter tobacco use and nicotine addiction, and urge comprehensive action by federal, provincial and territorial governments. https://www.who.int/campaigns/world-no-tobacco-day/2026
