i feel like OT/the Odyssey are in a similar camp of being *mostly* a lot of myths based on the culture of the era, whereas NT/the Illiad are *mostly* fantastical retellings of actual things that happened. (that is, the Trojan War definitely happened, and Jesus definitely preached some stuff.)
