We have got to stop buying these books. I mean I already have but just blanket refusal. It's not like the other side is. The stigma needs to be so intense publishers take a god damn bath on those advances. Only show up to tours to protest. Turn down ARCs on moral grounds. Break the profit motive.
(I am strongly against real names. I think it hurts the vulnerable way more than the powerful.)
