People do not owe anyone else a performance of their gender (or lack thereof). The only time 3rd person pronouns are used for either of them is when Derek, who doesn’t know Anthony and is making his own assumptions, uses “he.” No 3rd person pronouns are used for Asa at all, or otherwise for Anthony.
