Ladies. I don't believe our great grandmothers would be happy with us if we allow men to take away the rights they suffered to obtain. Women of America lead the blue tsunami this November.💙 We have an obligation to make sure those rights are preserved.

On June 4, 1919, Congress passed the 19th Amendment, moving the U.S. one step closer to women's suffrage. Less remembered are the deaf women who helped fight for that right — organizing, protesting, writing and advocating despite facing discrimination and barriers of their own.

Despite harsh, discriminatory conditions, low pay and lack of appreciation, deaf women have fought with brilliance and dedication for personal and professional recognition, including the right to vote.
