My AES beckons for these 😩
Had to delete my latest video, due to some audio issues that I overlooked during editing.
Bare with me, as I work on fixing it and reuploading it!
Hot off the presses, I just got this thing routed and finished last night. This #NeoGeo CHA256RY board is apart of a set of two, the next one I’ll be routing being the other PROGBK1Y.
This board was super interesting though and thanks to @furrtek.bsky.social all the CPLD work is already done.
If you want to spend hundreds on collectibles, then by all means. It's your money and you can do whatever the fuck you want. But don't look me in the eye and tell me that you're a "Real collector", just because you spent multiple thousands on a game because it's sealed. You're just a pompous douche.
RPGMaker was my first experience with working around a game engine, as I wanted to get into game development when I was a teenager. Obviously plans fell through, but I still hold RPGMaker near and dear to me.
I hope at least most of these games can be preserved, for historical reasons.
I know that term is specifically used for people who spend an assload of money on authentic collectibles, but I personally think that is stupid beyond belief. A "Real collector" should be someone who just collects shit they are interested in, from a hobby or casual standpoint.
You know what I find stupid? The term "Real Collector". I've seen that term be thrown around in youtube videos regarding collecting hobbies, and everytime I am like, "The fuck does that even mean??"
Like what, do I need a fucking license to be classed as a "Real collector" now?
So many people these days focus way too hard on the monetary aspect of collecting, to the point where they forget that it's supposed to just be a fun hobby. It becomes less about the love of the game, and more like trading physical "stocks". Fuck off with that brokerage bullshit.
All you want to do is gamble your money on "speculation", go to a fucking casino. You want to get into investments, then go to the stock market.
But the investor mindset should never come anywhere near a hobby that's meant to bring joy to people's hearts.
Thank you for listening to my rant.
I collect bootlegs and repros, as well as authentic games. But that doesn't mean that my collection is not "real". It's different, but it's not any less real than any other collection. So don't go feeding me this fucking money laundering propaganda bullshit about "Real collectors".
